Roddy has 25 years’ experience in enterprise business technology. He also has 15 years of experience in the insurance industry in corporate project management, management consulting, technology advisory and the delivery of digital tools for the sale and distribution of life insurance. After advancing from a software developer to project manager, and leading troubled projects to success with companies such as IBM Global Services and AT&T, Roddy co-founded Lavvi (formerly TKS) in 2007.
In a consulting capacity, Roddy has directly worked with insurance companies such as Assumption Life, Medavie Blue Cross, UNI Financial Services, TruStage Life Canada (formerly Assurant Life), Acadia Life, and Blue Cross Life. Under Roddy’s leadership, TKS merged with long-time customer TSi Auto Solutions in 2014. Roddy re-acquired TKS with Assumption Life in 2017, and successfully exited TSi in 2018.
Roddy has served as a member of several boards, including TechImpact, Venn Innovation and the CHU Dumont Foundation. He is a mentor to Université de Moncton students through the Patrick Albert Mentorship Program, a supporter of Junior Achievement and an angel investor to local startups.
A proud father of two, Roddy also co-created the Maple Summit event, bringing founders and entrepreneurs from around the world together for backcountry skiing and snowboarding in British Columbia. Roddy is fluent in French and English.
Roddy holds a Bachelor of Science from Dalhousie University and an Applied Information Technology Post Graduate Diploma from the Information Technology Institute. He is also part of the Wallace McCain Institute’s Entrepreneurial Leaders Program.
